HOW IT HAPPENED
In doubles play, the hosts took all three matches to take an early edge over the Falcons. The tandem duo of freshman Jessica Coughlin (Durham, Conn.) and senior Kelsea Wildman (Hamden, Conn.) put up a strong fight in No. 2 doubles, but fell 8-5 to Nickie Nguyen and Marissa Johnson.
The Sharks carried their strong play over into singles, taking 12 of the 13 matches to earn their second conference win of the fall. Sophomore Paige Williams (Orange County, Va.) recorded a strong performance for the Falcons at No. 6 singles, taking the first set 6-4, but Elise Kenney took the next two matches to secure the win.
