A NEW WEEK
The Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team opens week three with back-to-back home contests against Medgar Evers and Mitchell College. The Falcons wrap up the week with a non-conference tri-match against Maine Presq. Isle and host Becker on Saturday afternoon.

- Genesis Cora Luquis (Meriden, Conn.) set a new career-high in kills with 12.
- Cora Luquis and sophomore Ashley David (West Islip, N.Y.) posted in double-figures for the Falcons, tallying 12 and 11 kills, respectively.

GAME FIVE HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Marielis Muriel (New Haven, Conn.) recorded her third double-double of the season as the setter assisted 28 kills and picked up 10 digs.
- Freshman Kimberly Keller (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Genesis Cora Luquis (Meriden, Conn.) scored the final three points need to secure the win for the Falcons.

- Senior Nicole Beard (Shelton, Conn.) recorded a season-high 14 assists.
- Sophomore Delaney Ruiz (Meriden, Conn.) led the Falcons attack with a team-high six kills.

- Gomez and sophomore Ashley David (West Islip, N.Y.) rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Falcons with 10.
- Beard recorded a season-high 34 assists while sophomore Jesselle Guzman (Santa Fe, N.M.) tallied a team-high 24 digs.

The Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team was picked to finish 13th in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll.
A QUICK LOOK BACK AT LAST YEAR
- The women's volleyball team ended the 2016 fall season with a 7-20 overall record and landed in 12th-place in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with a 0-11 mark in league action.
- Head Coach Vanessa Rosario guided the Falcons to non-conference wins against York, Elms, Purchase State, Medgar Evers and CCNY.
- Albertus Magnus swept the season series with York and Medgar Evers, defeating both the Cardinals and Cougars twice during the autumn.
- The team also won back-to-back matches on two separate occasions in 2016.
- Albertus Magnus opened the year with two straight wins at the Blazer Invitational hosted by Elms.

The Falcons return to action next week against Dean, SUNY Old Westbury, Regis (Mass.) and Simmons.
