ANNANDALE, N.Y. - Despite forcing extra sets in both matches, the Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team came up short on the road in a non-conference tri-match to the Gryphons of Sarah Lawrence College and the Raptors of Bard College on Saturday afternoon inside Stevenson Gym.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

• This was the first meeting between the two programs. 
• Albertus earned its first set win of the season after defeating the Gryphons by a score of 25-17 in the third. 
• The Falcons opened set three with a 5-0 run, sparked by a kill by Joismar Avilés (Hatillo, Puerto Rico), and never looked back, closing out the frame with a 6-0 run behind kills from Elizabeth Lynch (Stratford, Conn.), Jaiden Williams (Orange, Conn.), and Avilés.  
• As a team, Albertus recorded a season-high in kills (44), total attacks (161), assists (41), digs (84), and solo blocks, (9). 
• The Falcons tallied 10 or more kills in the first, third, and fourth set, respectively. 
• Freshman Elayna Beutel (Prospect, Conn.) led both the Falcons' offensive and defensive units with a season-high 12 kills and five solo blocks, respectively. 
• Williams notched her first double-double of the season behind 33 assists and 14 digs, improving her career total to 18. 
• Junior Diana Kalman (East Haven, Conn.) also served as an offensive threat for Albertus tallying a season-best 10 kills.
• Sophomore Amanda Zdru's (Stratford, Conn.) 27 digs was a season-best for the libero.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

• This was the fourth all-time meeting against the two programs.
• Bard extends its all-time series record to 3-1 against the Falcons. 
• This was Albertus' first five-set match of the season.
• Albertus set new season-highs in service aces (16) and block assists (16).
• Despite the Raptors cutting the lead to within two, 19-17, Albertus was able to solidify set two, 25-20, and even the match at 1-1. 
• Set three saw a lot of back-and-forth action between Albertus and Bard as both teams battled through 12 ties with Albertus coming out on top, 28-26. 
• Williams was three digs shy of recording a double-double, 15 assists, and seven digs. 
• Four players - Avilés (5), Ivanna Sanfeliz (Dorado, Puerto Rico) (4), Williams (3), and Kalman (2) - recorded two or more service aces for the Falcons. 
• Sanfeliz also recorded a strong defensive showing at the net with five blocks assists. 
• Kalman set a new career-high with six blocks in the nightcap.
