BRONX, N.Y. - The Albertus Magnus College women's volleyball team made quick work of Lehman College, with a 3-0 sweep on Thursday evening in a non-conference matchup.

HIGHLIGHTS
The Falcons jumped out the gate to start the match, scoring the first four points behind a kill apiece from Joismar Aviles (Hatillo, Puerto Rico) and Shalese Gordon (Bridgeport, Conn.). After Lehman got within two points at 8-6, Albertus rattled off the next 13 points to take a commanding 21-6 lead. Elizabeth Lynch (Stratford, Conn.) had four kills during the stretch. The final five points on the run were all via kill for the Falcons. Albertus was never threatened, scoring the final three points of the set to take a 1-0 match lead.
In the second set, it was Lehman who jumped out to the early lead at 3-0 before Albertus roared back to take a 7-6 lead, taking advantage of six errors by Lehman. The Lightning recovered to take a 10-8 lead. No team was able to take control of the set throughout as neither team was able to take a lead larger than three points until the Falcons took a 24-20 lead late in the set thanks in large part to a kill from Gordon and Emma Fallon (Harwinton, Conn.). Fallon finished with four kills in the set.
Albertus started the third set out strong, opening up a 10-5 lead after four straight points that included two kills from Colleen Edwards (Clinton, Conn.). The Lightning would not go away easily in the third, storming back to take a 16-14 lead behind two kills and an ace from Arianna Calderon and two kills from Daira Hernandez. Lehman led late in the set at 21-20, but the Falcons scored the final five points, finishing on three straight kills. Edwards had two of them, while Lynch had the final one to close out the match.
