Camille's term runs
through January 2022

WINTHROP, Mass. – Currently in his second year as President of Albertus Magnus College, Dr. Marc M. Camille has been appointed to the NCAA Division III Chancellors/Presidents Advisory Group, as announced by Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Commissioner Joe Walsh on Tuesday.

Dr. Camille's term will run through January 2022 on the Advisory Group, which is made up of other presidents and chancellors from Division III conferences. The committee advises the D3 Presidents Council, which is the highest governing body in the division.

Dr. Camille is an active member of the GNAC Presidents' Council, attending annual GNAC league meetings and events, and also attended the 2019 NCAA Convention in Orlando, as did Albertus Magnus two-sport student-athlete Sabrina Pohlig as a member of the GNAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Executive Committee.

"Like all of our GNAC Presidents, President Camille is committed to the success and experience of our student-athletes in Division III," said Commissioner Walsh. "Being a former NCAA student-athlete himself will also bring added perspective to his appointment."

Dr. Camille, who played varsity baseball, soccer, and ice hockey as an undergraduate at Curry College (MA) and varsity baseball at Rollins College (FL), was appointed the 14th President of Albertus Magnus College on June 30, 2017. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Rollins, his master's degree at the University of Miami, and his doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.

"The NCAA Division III model is about the holistic experience of student-athletes. Division III student-athletes have great passion for their sports, and they continue their athletics careers while focusing on earning their bachelor's degrees," said Dr. Camille. "Among my greatest memories are those from my undergraduate NCAA athletics years. I'm looking forward to representing the GNAC through this NCAA service."

Before his election as president at Albertus Magnus, Dr. Camille was the vice president for enrollment management and communications at Loyola University Maryland.

Prior to Dr. Camille's appointment to the NCAA Division III Chancelors/Presidents Advisory Group, the GNAC was represented by Saint Joseph's College of Maine President Dr. James Dlugos (2017-19) and Rivier University President Sister Paula Buley, IHM (2015-17).

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 13 member institutions and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region. Founded in 1995, the GNAC annually sponsors and administers 20 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunity and community involvement in an effort to enhance the student-athlete experience.
