Albertus Magnus Athletics Holds "Falcon Fest" To Honor Student-Athletes

New Haven, Conn. – On Wednesday, May 4, in the newly-renovated Hubert Campus Center/Behan Community Room, the Albertus Magnus College Department of Athletics held its annual end of the year awards banquet, which the department re-named "Falcon Fest", to honor its student-athletes and coaches as well as to celebrate the success from this past academic year.

The Albertus Magnus Department of Athletics had a successful 2021-22 campaign with six teams making a postseason appearance, including one team making a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship. Over the fall and winter campaign, 14 student-athletes were recognized by the GNAC as All-Conference selections as well as Head Men's Soccer Coach Pete Hamasian, who was named GNAC Coach of the Year.

The Falcons also recognized 121 student-athletes who made the Dean's List for the fall 2021 semester.

Members of the college community, including staff, administration, and faculty, were invited guests to the awards night and were among the crowd to honor the Albertus Magnus student-athletes.


The athletics department gave out seven major awards, while the student-athletes voted on Top Male and Female Performance of the Year and Moment of the Year.

    • The women's soccer team defeated conference powerhouse Lasell University for the first time in program history.

Leading up to "Falcon Fest", each program announced on social media its team awards for the 2021-22 season.

Men's Soccer

Women's Soccer

  • Most Improved Player – Erina Ismaili (Middlebury, Conn.)
  • Most Valuable Player – Haley Andrews (Prospect, Conn.)

Women's Tennis         

  • Falcon Award Winner – Giana Cagna (Meriden, Conn.)
  • Most Improved Player – Bailey Mitchell-Warren (Stratford, Conn.)
  • Most Valuable Player – JuJu Oliver (New Britain, Conn.)

Women's Volleyball

  • Most Improved Player – Nathalie Wallace (Rocky Hill, Conn.)

Field Hockey
