NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Gabby Rubino (Southington, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus softball team and Jahsai Martin-Fish (Stamford, Conn.) of the men's lacrosse team were named the Takin' Flight Falcons of the Week for their performances this past week.
Rubino collected hits in each game of a doubleheader sweep against Penn State Brandywine and SUNY Poly on Wednesday. The first-year went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and a run scored against Earlham on Friday. She followed up with another two hits in a 4-2 win over Thomas (Me.) in the second game of the doubleheader. To start the season, Rubino is batting .478 in 10 games for the Falcons.
Martin-Fish tallied a career-high seven caused turnovers and scooped up a personal-best six groundballs on Sunday in a 21-1 conference victory over Mitchell. The junior leads the GNAC in caused turnovers with 19, through the first five games this season. He has recorded 13 ground balls, as well.
