
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Albertus Magnus College Director of Athletics Michael Kobylanski has announced the hiring of Caitlyn Smith as the department's Athletic Administration Fellow. This newly-created position is affiliated with and funded primarily through a NCAA grant initiative.
"Caitlyn emerged from a deep field of candidates based on her outstanding experiences as a student-athlete, staff member and leader in previous roles," Kobylanski said. "We look forward to having Caitlyn work with our group of coaches and staff and developing relationships across campus in this newly-created role."
Smith most recently graduated from Lasell University in May, 2025 where she worked as an intern with the athletic trainers. In this role, she implemented mental health resources for the athletic trainers, administration and student-athletes.
Since 2023, she also served as an assistant preschool teacher at the Capital Regional Education Council River Street Autism program helping create implementing and creating outlets for children 3-5 in a school setting with a mixed group of students in special education and regular education students.
At Lasell, she was a member of the field hockey team and also served on the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was a National SAAC Associate Member. In these roles, she voted on new legislation for Division III and served as a liaison between the conference and Lasell athletics. She was also the ambassador of the Blue Key Society at Lasell.
Smith graduated with a bachelor of science degree in psychology and a minor in criminal justice from Lasell and is currently pursuing a masters in sports management with a concentration in sports administration.
