Phone: 203-223-8266

Steve Novodor enters his third season as the head coach of the Albertus Magnus College women's ice hockey team for the 2025-2026 season.

In 2024-25, Novodor's team competed in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) and finished with a 6-18-2 overall record while going 4-13-1 in conference play. The Falcons won the final two games of the season against Salem State to earn a spot in the NEHC tournament as an eight seed. Their season came to an end as they fell to Norwich in the quarterfinals. Molly Martin (Buffalo, N.Y.) was named to the All-NEHC first team and a 2024-25 New England Division III All-Star as she lead the team in goals with 10 and points with 19. Christmas Johnson (Winnipeg, Manitoba) led the NEHC with 757 saves on the season and collected a career-high 62 saves against Elmira. Under Novodor's direction, the women's ice hockey team had 12 of its student-athletes named Division II/III 2024-25 American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Krampade All-American Scholars for their efforts in the classroom.

During the 2023-2024 season, the women's ice hockey team finished with a 7-13-4 record overall. Albertus finished the season strong, not losing in February. They won three of the five games with the other two ending in ties. The team enjoyed a two-game sweep of King's (Pa.) where they won 5-1 and 4-2 in back-to-back games.

Molly Martin (Buffalo, N.Y.) led the way for the Falcons, recording 25 points with nine goals and 16 assists on the season. Christmas Johnson (Winnipeg, Manitoba) had a great season between the pipes for the Falcons, finishing the year with a .930 save percentage.

Novodor has more than 15 years of experience, including coaching stints at the collegiate, prep school, and youth levels.

A resident of Cheshire, Novodor joins the Falcons after most recently serving as an Assistant Coach at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Conn. During his 10-plus years at Loomis, the squad claimed the Founders League title in 2015 and the Large School New England Championship in 2014 and 2020.

Novodor has also served as a Director and Head Coach with Yale Youth Hockey since 2014, preceded by a run as the Head Coach at Southern Connecticut State University and additional experience with multiple youth and amateur organizations in Connecticut. Under Novodor's guidance, the Yale Junior Bulldogs U15 Tier 1 program won a USA Hockey National Championship.

Novodor earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Quinnipiac University.
