Albertus Magnus to Hold Special Baseball Opening Day Ceremony on Wednesday

New Haven, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College athletic department will hold a special Opening Day Ceremony at the newly renovated Rochford Field in nearby Hamden on Wednesday, March 23, at 2:30 pm prior to the Falcon baseball team's home opener against Elms College.

"Albertus Magnus is excited about introducing college baseball to the neighborhood," Director of Athletics Jim Abromaitis said. "Throughout this entire process, we appreciate the hard work and cooperation with the town of Hamden that got us here."

During the ceremony, Hamden Mayor Curt Balzano Leng and Albertus Magnus College trustee Mr. Raymond Peach will be throwing out the first pitches. Several people who were instrumental in bringing the town of Hamden and Albertus Magnus College together will also be speaking, including Mayor Leng, Mr. Peach and Hamden Director of Arts, Recreation and Culture Mimsi Coleman.

There is no cost for admission to the game.
