
Worcester, Mass. - Senior Tyriq Harris (Waterbury, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College baseball team collected his 100th career hit as the Falcons knocked off Worcester State University by a score of 7-2 Thursday evening in non-conference play at Lyons Diamond.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS
Freshman Nhasean Murphy (Manchester, Conn.) scored off a failed pickoff attempt in the top of the third to give the Falcons the one-run edge before Joseph Matthews (Anaheim, Calif.) drove in Harris from third, extending the lead to 2-0.
In the top of the sixth, Albertus struck again scoring a pair of runs behind a RBI single from Eduardo Pena (Hamden, Conn.) and a SAC fly from Ron Losacano (Old Lyme, Conn.) to push the lead to 4-0.
With two outs, freshman Elijah Spataj (Cheshire, Conn.) hit a three-run double in the top of the seventh to send Brandon Clark (Cheshire, Conn.), Daniel Kennedy (Manchester, Conn.) and Mike Browne (New Fairfield, Conn.) home to give the Falcons a seven-run cushion, 7-0.
In the bottom of the ninth, Worcester State scored two runs on two hits, but the Falcons already done their damage to take home the 7-2 win.

Albertus:
- Freshman Alan Stinson (Watertown, Conn.) earned his second win of the season as the rookie pitched five innings and allowed no hits while striking out one.
- Spataj paced the Falcons' offense with two hits, three RBI and a run scored.
- Browne finished the game 2-for-5 at the plate with a run scored.
Worcester St.:
- Justin Pena suffered the loss on the mound for the Lancers after allowing four runs scored, six hits and two walks while striking out four batters.
- Michael Ferrara and Andrew Miller recorded both hits for the hosts.

- Today's victory over the Lancers was the Falcons first in program history and brings the all-time series record to 1-8.
- The Falcons' bullpen took a no hitter into the ninth inning and held the Lancers to only two hits on the evening.
