KEY HIGHLIGHTS - Game 1

  • The first 3.5 innings were controlled by the Lasers as the visitors jumped out to a commanding nine-run lead, 9-0, highlighted by a five-run inning in the top of the second.
  • Albertus found its stride in the bottom of the fourth when Jefferson led off the inning by smashing a ball over the right-field fence for his second home run of the season. The Falcons found another opportunity to score with two outs and bases loaded as S. Smith was able to steal home on a Lasers' wild pitch.
  • However, the Falcons' fourth-inning rally was cut short on a force out at second that stranded three base runners, and the hosts found themselves trailing by seven, 9-2.
  • The Falcons' defense was unable to stop Lasell from driving in another five runs over the fifth and sixth innings, respectively, to extend its lead to 12, 14-2.
  • Albertus drummed up more excitement in the sixth inning when Arent flied out to center, driving in Aidan Kane (Middlebury, Conn.), who came in as a pinch runner for Anthony Broadhurst (Stratford, Conn.), and advancing Yandy James (Paterson, N.J.) to third. James took his chances when the Lasers' pitcher hummed a ball away from the catcher, giving him just enough time to steal home.
  • The Falcons weren't finished scoring as Sullivan smashed a base hit down the left field line to send Kozlowski home for the Falcons' fifth run of the game, 14-5.
  • The Lasers tallied one run in the top of the seventh to seal the 15-5 victory over the Falcons.

Smith and a home run from Ramos, to take the one-run lead, 4-3, heading into the second inning.
  • The bottom of the second saw Albertus push its lead to three, 6-3, as Kozlowski doubled down the left field line to drive in Losacano and Arent from second and third.
  • The Lasers retaliated in the following at-bat by scoring one run on a groundout to second to trim the deficit to two, 6-4, but a base hit from Arent in the bottom of the third allowed Ramos to cross home and push the hosts' lead back to three, 7-4.
  • In the top of the fourth, Lasell managed to tie the game at 7-all behind a three-run inning before taking its first lead of game two, 9-7, following a two-run RBI double in the top of the fifth.
  • After a scoreless sixth inning, Lasell came alive in the top of the seventh, scoring an additional three runs behind an RBI double and a two-run homer to extend its lead to five, 12-7.
  • Albertus began to show life in the bottom of the eighth as Jefferson kicked off the inning with his second home run of the day, but the Lasers slammed the door on the rally with three straight outs to send the teams to the ninth inning.
  • The Lasers tacked on an additional run in the top of the ninth inning to take a 13-8 lead. AMC was unable to answer in the bottom of the ninth, and the Falcons suffered a 13-8 setback in game two.
