  • Albertus found its stride in the bottom of the fifth, scoring four runs to cut the deficit in half, 10-5.
  • With two outs, Bobby Arent (Ridgefield, Conn.) kicked off the rally with a double to left field before crossing home on a double down the left field line from Jefferson. Sullivan then followed suit with a single to right center to drive in Jefferson from second.
  • Prior to the third out, S. Smith closed out the scoring with a booming home run over the center field fence for the two-run RBI.

  • Following a 1-2-3 inning by the Monks, Albertus recorded its first lead of the doubleheader, 2-1, behind a lead-off home run from Joseph Cortes (Bridgeport, Conn.).

  • A half inning later, the Monks scored the two runs needed to tie the game for a third time at 10-10.
  • Riccio led off the bottom of the seventh with a single but was left stranded when Monk's hurler Luke Stephens induced three straight outs to keep the Falcons off the scoreboard.
  • Tyler Baldwin (Cromwell, Conn.) turned the Monks away without a score in the top of the eighth, but the Falcons were unable to capitalize in the bottom of the frame, as Stephens hurled a 1-2-3 inning.
  • Rooks relieved Baldwin in the ninth. With runners on first and third following a single and a sacrifice bunt, Rooks induced an inning-ending ground ball double play to turn the Monks away without the score.
  • AMC put two on with none out in the bottom of the ninth, as Cortes and King Rivera (Bridgeport, Conn.) reached on a leadoff single and a throwing error from the pitcher. However, Stephens snuffed out the rally with three straight outs to send the teams into the tenth inning.
  • Rooks handcuffed the Monks in the tenth, sandwiching a two-out walk around three strikeouts.
  • With the game tied at 10-all heading into the bottom of the tenth inning, Jefferson took matters into his own hands, launching a leadoff bomb onto the street behind right field to secure the 11-10 walk-off victory for the Falcons.
