NEW HAVEN, Conn. - For the first time this season, junior Mekhi Warren (New Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team was named this week's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Warren had one of his best weeks this season, averaging 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks, while shooting an impressive 70.6% (12-17) from the field. In the Falcons road setback to Lasell, Warren scored a season-high 22 points to go along with eight rebounds, one assist, and two blocks in just 25 minutes of action. Warren then closed out the week scoring eight points and six rebounds in the Falcons' 87-82 win over Emmanuel.

The men's basketball team continues GNAC play with a road tilt against the Blazers of Elms College on Tuesday, January 18th. Tip-off is set for 5 PM in Chicopee, Mass. inside the Maguire Center for Health, Fitness, and Athletics.
