POSTSEASON BEGINS
The Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team ended the 2021-22 regular season with a 15-6 overall record and a 13-3 mark in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) to earn the No. 2 seed in the upcoming GNAC Tournament. The Falcons' quest for a ninth league championship begins on Wednesday, Feb. 23, with a 7 p.m. quarterfinal matchup against #7 Regis (Mass.) College at the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center.

POSTSEASON NOTES

  • This year will mark Albertus' 21st all-time appearance in the GNAC Tournament.
  • The Falcons own a 35-12 overall record in the league tournament.
  • Albertus has won eight GNAC Championship Titles, with head coach Mitch Oliver leading them to seven championships. 

2021-22 RECAP 

  • The Falcons finished the regular season with a 15-6 overall record and a 13-3 mark in the GNAC. 
  • Started the season 5-1, which included high-profile wins over Rutgers-Camden, Keene State, and Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
  • Went 4-2 in the month of January, defeating Emmanuel (Mass.), Elms College, Norwich University, and Dean College.    
  • Went on a four-game winning streak to close out the season, defeating Johnson & Wales University, Colby-Sawyer College, Regis (Mass.) University, and Johnson & Wales University.  
  • Tyreek Perkins (New Haven, Conn.) scored his 1,000th career point in an 87-82 thriller over Emmanuel (Mass.) on January 15th.
  • Ranked in Region 1 in both NCAA Division III Regional Rankings this season.
  • Mekhi Warren (New Haven, Conn.) was named GNAC Rookie of the Week in Week 8.

  • Albertus finished the regular season on a four-game winning streak.
  • The Falcons had three different players finish the regular season with 200+ points.
  • Perkins put the cap on an illustrious career with his 1,000th career point.
  • Terry Dawkins (Bronx, N.Y.) and Warner each scored over 250 points this season.
