Slade's Near Triple-Double Lifts Men's Basketball In Rout Over Lasell

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team never trailed in a dominating 93-60 win over Lasell in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup inside The Nest.

Jeyson Slade (Stamford, Conn.) was one rebound short of a triple-double, scoring 13 points, and dishing out 10 assists to go with nine rebounds. He also hit all five of his shots from the field. Kevin Crawford (Bridgeport, Conn.) scored 13 off the bench and Justice Washington (Hamden, Conn.) and Antonio Bonilla (Tenafly, N.J.) each scored 11 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Just 3:31 into the first half, the Falcons took an 11-4 lead behind five points from Deivone Tanksley (Hartford, Conn.) and four from Slade as Albertus set the tone early.
  • Lasell got within three points when they made it a 14-11 game after a three from Che Hanks. It was the closest the Lasers would get as Albertus followed with a 19-6 run to take a commanding 33-17 lead with 8:14 left in the first half. During the game-changing run, Malcolm Duncanson (West Haven, Conn.) scored six points and four from Slade.
  • The Falcons didn't let up, taking a 54-27 lead into the half.
  • Ten different Falcons made a field goal in the first half as they were able to spread the ball around. Slade and Duncanson each scored nine points in the first 20 minutes, while Washington and Bonilla scored eight. Albertus shot 64.9 percent (24-for-37)  from the field and hit four of their 10 three-point attempts. 
  • Defensively, the Falcons held the Lasers to 8-for-26 shooting (30.8 percent) and forced nine turnovers in the first half.
  • The second half took on the same theme as the first as Albertus kept pouring on the offense and taking its biggest lead of the game at 86-45 after a three from Jarrell Petteway (Windsor, Conn.).
  • Crawford scored 11 points in the second half for Albertus on 4-for-6 shooting.
  • Albertus forced 12 turnovers in the second half and held the Lasers to 0-for-8 shooting from three in the half.

  • The Falcons shot a season-high 56.7 percent (38-for-67) from the field, a season-high. 
  • Albertus has won all three of its GNAC games by an average of 26.3 points.
  • The Falcons had 13 players score during the game and 42 bench points, which were the second-highest output this season. 
  • Albertus scored a season-high 33 points off of 21 turnovers.
  • The Falcons scored 56 points in the paint, a season-high.
  • Both Bonilla and Crawford each scored their 500th point of their careers in the game. Bonilla now has 507 points and Crawford, 503.
  • Albertus is now 29-7 all-time against Lasell and has won 15 of its last 16 meetings.
  • Albertus remains one of just three undefeated teams left in conference play.
