SACO, Maine – The Albertus Magnus College men's golf team sits tied for third after the first round of the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Golf Championship with a combined score of 344 (+60) on Monday.

The Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine lead the way after round one at their home course, the Biddeford-Saco Country Club, with a score of 324 (+40). Elms College (335) is in second place ahead of Albertus and Norwich University in third. Dean College (357) and Emmanuel (Mass.) College (358) finished just one stroke apart in fifth and sixth, respectively.

NOTES

• Leading the way for the Falcons after today's first round was Shamar Wilson (Montego Bay, Jamaica), who finished the day with a score of 84 (+13) to place 10th.
• Wilson tallied eight pars on the day and one birdie on the par-four 16th.
• Next on the leaderboard for AMC was Kyle Sikorski (Norwich, Conn.) in a tie for 12th with a score of 86 (+15) in round one.
• Sikorski recorded one birdie today, on the par-five 3rd, to go along with three pars.
• AMC's David Aquavia (Oakville, Conn.) and Devin Hines (West Haven, Conn.) both finished tied for 14th with identical scores of 87 (+16).
• Aquavia tallied a birdie on the par-five 17th and sank four pars.
• Hines parred three holes on the front nine, two on the back, and birdied the par-three 10th.
• Charles Kristofak (West Hartford, Conn.) ended the day in a tie for 19th place at the challenging course.
• Like all his teammates, Kristofak tallied one birdie, coming on the par-four sixth. He also recorded five pars, four of which came on the back nine.
