Men's Ice Hockey Concludes Home Slate with 4-1 Win over Anna Maria

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team concluded the home portion of its 2021-22 schedule with a 4-1 win over Anna Maria College in a chippy game at the Ralph Walker Skating Rink Thursday night.

The Falcons finished the evening with four different goal scorers, as Tyler Ignazzitto (Bath, Ontario), Ryan Colwell (Plainedge, N.Y.), Sam Anderson (Calgary, Alberta), and Dino Antoniadis (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) all found the back of the net. Between the pipes, Logan Bateman (Ottawa, Ontario) earned his 14th win of the season behind one goal allowed.

KEY GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Falcons came out on top in a quiet first period, scoring the lone goal off the stick of Ignazzitto, with assists from Colwell and Charles Risk (Medicine Hat, Alberta).
  • AMC scored the only goal in the second period, needing just 45 seconds for Colwell to cash in on a power play. Colwell was assisted on the play by Jonathan Stein (Vancouver, British Columbia) and Risk.
  • The Falcons scored twice in the third period to ice the game away. Anderson found the back of the net first before Antoniadis hit an empty-netter. Zach Pellegrino (Madison, Conn.) and Colwell earned assists on the Anderson tally.
  • Bateman picked up his 14th win of the season with 29 saves. He was at his busiest in the second period, when he stopped all 16 AMCATS' shots.
