Men's Ice Hockey Takes Down Tufts At Tampa Invitational

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - Caden Pattison (Lake Stevens, Wash.) and Kyle Dann (Windham, N.H.) each scored a goal as the Albertus Magnus College men's ice hockey team defeated Tufts University, 2-1 on Saturday evening in the consolation game of the Tampa College Hockey Invitational.

Dann also added an assist to the day and Paden Hicks (Kansas City, Mo.) finished with two assists.

Matt Lenz (Grapevine, Tx.) finished with 31 saves in net for Albertus.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a scoreless first period which saw Lenz stop all 11 shots he faced, the Falcons got on the board in the second period as Pattison backhanded home a rebound off a shot from Dann to make it a 1-0 game at the 11:45 mark.
  • Albertus held the one-goal lead after the second period as Lenz disposed all 13 shots from the Jumbos.
  • Early in the third period, Hicks dropped off a pass to Dann on a two-on-one breakaway who put the puck past Tufts goaltender Tade Carman to put Albertus up, 2-0.
  • The Jumbos got on the board at the 4:23 mark of the final period on a goal from Trace Norrwell after a pass from Cole Dubicki. Lenz would stop the final three shots he faced on the evening to preserve the Albertus win.
