The Albertus Magnus men's lacrosse team fell to Saint Joseph's College of Maine 13-7 in a hard-fought Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) battle on Saturday afternoon in New Haven.  Greg Buck (Berlin, Conn.) led the Falcons with four goals, while freshman Jack Kerner (Merrick, N.Y.) registered 22 saves.

Albertus (0-5, 0-2 GNAC) fell behind 3-0 early as the Monks' Patrick Hills tallied two goals off of passes from teammate Brendan Barrett.  Buck scored his first goal of the contest off a Mike Choiniere (Bethany, Conn.) pass to cut the Monks' lead to 3-1 after the first quarter.

After almost five minutes of scoreless play to start the second quarter, Albertus used two-consecutive goals to tie the game at three. Buck tallied the Falcons' second goal of the day, while Austin Kozek (West Haven, Conn.) scored his first career goal to tie the contest. Choiniere found Kozek cutting in front of the net and the rookie finished on the play.

The Monks used five-straight unanswered goals to end the half led by two from Brad Loomis as Saint Joseph's went into the halftime break ahead 8-3.

The Monks' Dalton Eldridge scored his second goal of the game less than three minutes into the third quarter to give Saint Joseph's a 9-3 lead.  Buck scored his third of the contest after a pass from Dalton Sargent (Augusta, Maine).

The Monks held a 10-5 lead after the third and then posted three more goals in the fourth.  Buck and Sargent each scored in the fourth quarter for the Falcons as Buck now as eight goals on the year.

The Monks' Ethan Rettew earned the win as he tallied 10 saves, while allowing five goals.  Connor Trainor played the final 5:08 as he allowed two goals.

Albertus returns to action on Thursday, March 26 when the Falcons' host Regis (Mass.) in a 3:00 p.m. contest.
