Boston, Mass. – Despite a six-point performance (four goals and two assists) from senior Greg Buck (Berlin, Conn.), the Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team fell short on the road to Emerson College, 11-10, in overtime on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Emerson opened the game with the early 1-0 advantage just 18 second in, but back-to-back goals from Buck and a goal Justin Bennet (Fairfield, Conn.) gave the Falcons a 3-1 lead with 9:10 left in the first. Four minutes later, Emerson struck again with a man-up goal from James Monroe-Chausse, before Austin Kozak (West Haven, Conn.) found the back of the net for his first goal of the game and pushed the Falcons' lead back up to two, 4-2. However Emerson, would close out the period with a 2-0 run to tie the game a 4-4.

Thirty seconds into the second, Emerson added another tally to its total and regained the lead, 5-4, before James May (Branford, Conn.) and Buck put the Falcons up one, 6-5, with seven minutes left until the half. Emerson would go on to tie the match 6-6, but Buck would end the first half with his fourth goal of the game, putting the visitors up 7-6 at the half.

However, in the third period it was a different game as the Lions outshot the Falcons 4-1 to take a two-point lead, 10-8, heading into the final 15 minutes of play.

It was a defensive battle in the fourth as Albertus Magnus scored the only two goals of the period to send the game into overtime, 10-10. For the second time today, May was able to find the back of the net while Brennan Moore (Meriden, Conn.) scored the tying goal with 5:40 left to play.

Emerson's Jared Brush was able to put the ball past the Falcons' goalkeeper to score the game-winning goal for the hosts at the 2:40 mark in the sudden death overtime.
