New Haven, Conn. – Despite a five-goal, two assist performance from junior James May (Branford, Conn.), the Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team fell short at home, 13-7, to Lyndon State on Monday evening in non-conference play at Celentano Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Albertus Magnus came out of the gate hot as the Falcons held a 4-1 lead entering the second. May led the Falcons in the first scoring three goals while freshman Tyler Sicoli (Shoreham, N.Y.) recorded his third goal of the season to open regulation. However, Lyndon State took over on offense outscoring the Falcons 8-1 in the second to hold a 9-5 lead at the half.

The Hornets continued to control the flow of the game extending their lead to eight, 13-5. In the fourth, May and Brennan Moore (Meriden, Conn.) would score a goal each for the hosts, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons lost 13-7.

• Lyndon State won the ground ball battle, 46-39, as well as outshot the Falcons 59-39.
• Albertus Magnus finished the game 20-of-29 in clears and 11-of-24 in face offs.
• The Hornets were 13-of-24 in face-offs and 26-of-32 in clears.
• Shea Jones led the offensive unit for the visitors with a four goals while Zachary Carey and Spencer Aubin added three goals each.
• Jones also led the defensive unit with four caused turnovers as well as scooped up seven ground balls and three assists.
• Senior Brennan Moore (Meriden, Conn.) assisted three of the Falcons' seven goals
• Seniors Niko Ames (Sunderland, Mass.) and Kevin Henninger (Wallingford, Conn.) posted a team-best two caused turnovers while Ames recorded a game-high 11 ground balls.
• Lyndon State held a 12-9 edge over the Falcons in caused turnovers.
