HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The hosts took advantage of the extra-man opportunity at 8:33 in the first period by netting the first goal of the contest, but Cooper Strecker (Chester, Conn.) delivered his 25th goal of the season two minutes later off a Regis (Mass.) turnover and a successful Albertus clear.
  • Regis (Mass.) regained the lead a minute later with an unassisted goal before Strecker retaliated again with his second goal of the quarter. After another Pride turnover caused by Hayden Grigas (Milford, Conn.), Strecker was able to connect with the back of the net to even the score at two apiece.
  • After a blocked shot by Anthony Marsella, Nick Klein recorded his second tally for the 3-2 lead. DaKari Coleman (Norwalk, Conn.) evened the score with an unassisted goal following another successful clear by the Falcons.
  • Alec Kovalsky (Orange, Conn.) caused a Regis turnover and scooped up the groundball to set up Jeremy Tremblay's (Orford, Québec) first goal of the game off the quick pass from Strecker as the visitors took their first lead of the night.
  • The home team scored three times across the second and third quarters to take the 6-4 lead before Rocco Albanese (Nutley, N.J.) capitalized over a turnover thanks to a pass by Kader Price (Walden, N.Y.) to shorten the gap by one.
  • Two more Regis (Mass.) goals padded their lead by a trio of tallies.
  • After a saved shot by Price, Albanese delivered a quick pass to Tremblay for an Albertus man-up goal.
