HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Pilgrims netted two goals for the 2-0 edge with 11:29 remaining in the first quarter before Keenan put Albertus on the board and narrowed the gap by one 26 seconds later. On Keenan's goal DaKari Coleman (Norwalk, Conn.) won the faceoff and Zayre Bradley (Norwalk, Conn.) scooped the ground ball in front of the spectators before passing the ball to Tremblay, who darted around the back of the net for the side pass to Keenan. The junior was left unattended at the top of the attacking area for the Falcons' first tally of the game.
  • NEC regained a two-goal lead in the first quarter, followed by four more unanswered goals in the second quarter to take a 7-1 lead.
  • Brikes scored Albertus' second goal pf the game at 12:53 in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 8-2. The first-year waded through Pilgrims to connect with the back of the twine on an over-the-shoulder goal.
  • The hosts recorded 10 goals until Brikes tallied his second unassisted goal of the matchup with 6:56 remaining in regulation. Brikes brought the ball back into play for an around-the-corner shot that slipped between the goalkeeper's feet for an 18-3 game.
  • Andrew Pepka and Daniel Varga of NEC both netted back-to-back goals apiece for the final four scores of the night. Varga finished with nine goals for NEC.
