WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Derrick Mejia (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Cooper Strecker (Chester, Conn.) both recorded a point to close out the regular season in the Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team's 18-1 loss against in-state Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) rival the University of Saint Joseph's (Conn.) on Wednesday.

Mejia netted the lone goal for Albertus, while Strecker collected the assist.

  • The Blue Jays had a 13-0 lead after the third quarter, which included four goals by Christian Decker and two by both Matthew Wurszt and Aidan D'Amato.
  • After a successful Albertus clear, Anthony Brikes (Staten Island, N.Y.) spots an open Strecker behind the net who then quickly sent the ball high into Mejia's pocket for the Falcons only goal of the contest to make it a 15-1 game with 7:05 remaining in the fourth quarter.
  • The hosts tacked on three more goals over the final 5:54 of game action.
