HOW IT HAPPENED

The Falcons took control of the contest from the start, getting an early foul and a shot on goal in the first three minutes. The teams battled for the ball until the 15-minute mark when Albertus' Fillipe Mouroa (Milford, Conn.) lasered a shot towards the goal that missed the net by a hair. The Falcons retained control of the ball, launching a pair of corner kicks over the next five minutes that set up the shot for senior forward Abdoul Aremu (West Haven, Conn.), whose goal attempt was foiled by Bulldogs' keeper Utku Tanritanir. The Bulldogs' swung the momentum in their favor after the save, tearing up the field away from the Albertus' defenders and firing a pair of shots at Falcon's keeper Garfield Robinson (West Haven, Conn.). Robinson made a phenomenal save of the first shot but could not duplicate the feat, as the second shot from Daouda Illiassou snuck under the fingertips of the Falcon's keeper for the first score of the game in the 25th minute.

Down by a goal, the Falcons wasted no time in returning the favor. After Robinson foiled a Bulldog's free-kick, Albertus' Johan Stagnaro (East Hartford, Conn.) raced up the field with the ball, weaving through the Brooklyn defenders and firing a bullet through the center of the net to tie the game at 1-all with 19 minutes to play in the first half.

Less than two minutes later, the Falcon offense struck again. Aremu intercepted a Bulldog pass and raced up the field towards the goal, where Agudelo was waiting. A clean pass from Aremu resulted in an easy score for Agudelo, whose goal gave the Falcons the 2-1 lead, with just under 17 minutes remaining in the half.

Following Agudelo's goal, the teams battled back-and-forth for the ball for the duration of the half, but neither team was able to regain control, and the half ended with the Falcons on top 2-1.

Albertus continued to apply pressure and came into the second half with offense on the brain, peppering shots at the Bulldogs' goalkeeper from multiple directions. An attempt by Mouroa just missed giving the Falcons their third goal of the game four minutes into the half. The teams continued to spar for the ball before Aremu broke away from the press of bodies and tore up the field, sending a rocket into the lower-left corner of the net for the Falcon's third score in the 62nd minute.

Four minutes later, the Falcons struck again. An Aremu pass through the Bulldog defenders found Agudelo waiting by the net, who promptly fired a strike across the box for Agudelo's second goal of the night, giving the visitors a 4-1 advantage.

In the second half, the Falcons outshot the Bulldogs by an 8-1 margin to go along with a 3-0 lead in corners. The Falcons played keep-away for the final 15 minutes to improve to 5-1 on the season.
