HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Saints got off to a rapid start when just 17 seconds into the match, Jacob Beck found the back of the net off a feed from Cam Naples that beat the Falcons back-line. Emmanuel remained in control for the next five minutes when Rafael Matamoros found himself on the end of a through ball from Aaron Picker, doubling the hosts lead.
  • Despite both sides having chances throughout the remainder of the half, the score held at 2-0 as the halftime horn sounded.
  • Emmanuel clung to their 2-0 advantage for the first 15 minutes of the second half, but Albertus Magnus stormed back. Barreira cut the lead to just one in the 61st minute to begin the comeback for the Falcons.
  • After a corner kick in the 75th minute, EJ Gonzalez (Cheshire, Conn.) found the back of the net to knot the game at two. Aiden Coelho (Naugatuck, Conn) delivered a beautiful ball from the right corner as Gonzalez soared to head the ball past the goalkeeper.
  • Just over two minutes later, the Falcons were able to take a 3-2 lead through a Johan Stagnaro (East Hartford, Conn.) goal off a pass from Wilczynski.
  • Looking to salvage a point, the home side charged forward with just over two minutes left to play. Pierre-Paul Labossiere received a ball from Joe Anderson, burying the equalizer to tie the game at three.
  • Neither side was able to create another chance for the remaining 120 seconds, ending the match in a draw.
  • Emmanuel out-shot Albertus Magnus 13-10, but Albertus tallied more corner kicks with five versus the Saints' three.
