Stagnaro Has Three Assists as Men's Soccer Gets Shutout Win Over Elms

CHICOPEE, Mass. - Johan Stagnaro had three assists as the Albertus Magnus College men's soccer team remained undefeated in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play in a 4-0 shutout of Elms.

Stagnaro's three assists were a career-high. Aiden Coelho, Matheus Pimenta, Elijah French and Morgan Stone all scored for Albertus.

David Lucero (East Haven, Conn.) notched his third shutout of the season and 14th of his career.

The 5-0-1 start to the GNAC season is the best start by the Falcons in conference play since 2021 where they also went 5-0-1 through their first six games.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After a quite 30-plus minutes of action, the Falcons got on the board twice in the final 13 minutes of the first half. Coelho put the Falcons on the board in the 33rd minute as Stagnaro fed him the pass to make it a 1-0 game.
  • Just seven minutes later, Matheus Pimenta scored his first goal of his career, courtesty of a Stagnaro corner kick, putting Albertus up 2-0 heading into halftime.
  • Once again it was Stagnaro's corner kick that helped give Albertus a 3-0 lead finding French, who put home his first career goal in the 54th minute.
  • Stone added his second goal of the season, and third of his career in the 67th minute, giving Albertus its final tally of the evening.
