NEW HAVEN, Conn. - A goal in the 81st minute by Dorian Wilczynski (Bristol, Conn.) and a save on a penalty kick by David Lucero (East Haven, Conn.) kept the Albertus Magnus College men's soccer unbeaten in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play as the Falcons tied first-place Johnson and Wales University (JWU), 1-1 on Tuesday evening at Celentano Field.
Albertus and JWU are the last two remaining unbeaten teams in conference play. It is also the second best start in GNAC play in Albertus history through its first nine games.
The Falcons now sit in second place with 23 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was an eventful but scoreless first half as the teams combined for six shots on goal in the first 45 minutes. Aiden Coelho (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Lorenzo Lauria (New Haven, Conn.) each had shots on goal for the Falcons in the half.
- Just three minutes into the second half, Aidan Bagley put JWU on the board as a loose ball was headed down in the box before Bagley spun around and kicked a ball into the far side of the net to make it a 1-0 game.
- In the 59th minute, Lucero preserved the one-goal game, diving to his right and stopping a penalty kick by Christopher Vargas.
- Over the final 15 minutes of the second half, the Falcons were on the offensive attack and would score its lone goal in wild fashion. In the 81st minute, a free kick by Johan Stagnaro (East Hartford, Conn.) was deflected by JWU goalkeeper Declan Caster. In a scramble for the ball, Lauria then tapped the ball up in the air and kicked it with the bottom of his foot towards the far post and Wilczynski slammed into the post while stuffing the ball into the back of the net to tie the match, 1-1. It was Wilczynski's second goal of the season.
