THE BASICS
FINAL: Albertus 2 | Elms 0
RECORDS: Albertus (5-2-1, 2-0-0 GNAC) | Elms (5-3-1, 1-1-1 GNAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons were the more aggressive team in the first half, firing shot after shot at Elms goalkeeper, Jack Bousquet. After a header from Lauria off a corner kick from Coelho bounced off the crossbar a minute earlier, the duo had another opportunity on a corner kick. This time they connected as Coelho's corner kick deflected off Bousquet to Lauria, who volleyed home his fifth goal of the season.
- Later in the first half, Lucero made a big save as he was one-on-one with Dru Fairthorne who fired a shot just a few yards out. Lucero dove to his left to make the stop and preserve the shutout.
- Coelho added his fourth goal of the season on a penalty kick after Elms was called for a hand ball in the box.
