HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Lauria put the Falcons on the board in the seventh minute. After a corner kick by Coelho was headed back to him, he volleyed the ball back into the box with SJC goalkeeper Logan Davis out of positon. Malik Ouro-Adei gathered the ball near the net and tapped a pass to Lauria who put it home to make it a 1-0 game.
  • The Monks answered with two goals of their own in the 11th and 18th minutes respectively. In the 11th, Cole Bishop scored as he was setup on a pass from Nick Marion in the box to tie the game at 1-1. Hayes Sweeney then gave the Monks the 2-1 lead on a shot from the top of the box.
  • Lauria tied the game once again in the 21st minute on a header off a corner from Coelho.
  • SJC took the lead once more in the first half in the 33rd minute on a direct free kick from just outside the box, giving the Monks a 3-2 lead heading into halftime.
  • Coelho answered with a direct free kick of his own from just outside the box in the 57th minute to tie the game once again in the 57th minute for his fifth goal of the season.
  • The two teams remained tied until the 82nd minute when Coelho and Lauria connected again. This time, Coelho floated a ball down field and Davis came out of his net to beat Lauria to the ball, but Lauria was able to get to the ball first and fire one into the open net to give Albertus the lead, which they would hold onto for the final eight minutes. The goal was Lauria's eighth of the season.
