New Haven, CT - Freshman guard Lianna Carrero (Hamden, CT/Hamden) scored a team high 23 points on 10-14 shooting including 3-4 from beyond the three point line to lead Albertus Magnus over visiting Newbury College 85-61.  The Falcons also received a double-double from senior forward Bianca Brown who scored 19 points and grabbed a team high 10 rebounds.

Albertus used to big runs in the first half to lead 49-25 at halftime and never looked back.  The Falcons never trailed in the contest holding a double digit lead for most of the game.  A balanced offensive attack which featured five players with atleast four assists fueled the offense the entire game.

Newbury College was led by sophomore center Catherine O'Connell (Quincy, MA/North Quincy) and her game high 22 rebounds to go along with 11 points.

The Falcons improve to 3-2, 0-0 GNAC while Newbury College drops to 0-5, 0-0 NECC.

Albertus hosts non-conference opponent New England College on Thursday night with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 pm.
