New London, CT - Freshman guard Lyndsey Karle (Wallingford, CT/Lyman Hall) and senior forward Bianca Brown (West Haven, CT/Career) led the Falcons to a 15-0 run late in the second half to propel Albertus over host Connecticut College 55-50 on Tuesday night.
The Falcons trailed 47-39 with 7:42 remaining in the second half when Karle made a three point basket to cut the lead to 47-42. Brown would make a jump shot to continue the run and cut the lead to 47-44. Karle would then make back to back three pointers to put the Falcons on top 50-47 with 4:49 remaining. Brown would make a lay up this time to put Albertus up 52-47. Clutch free throw shooting from sophomore guard Shanilya Bush (New Haven, CT/Wilbur Cross) would would give the Falcons the 54-47 lead with just 45 seconds remaining to seal the victory for Albertus.
Albertus was led by Karle who had a game high 15 points and was 5-10 from beyond the arc. Brown added 12 points and a team high eight rebounds. Freshman forward Annie Raucci (Milford, CT/Foran) scored a career high 13 points on 6-10 shooting.
Connecticut College was led by sophomore forward Annie Fierberg (Watertown, CT/The Taft School) and her team high 10 points.
Albertus improves to 7-9, 1-4 GNAC while Connecticut College drops to 7-11 on the season.
The Falcons travel to Providence, RI to take on GNAC opponent Johnson and Wales University on Thursday night at 7:00 pm in an important game for the Falcons.
