New Haven, Conn. – Behind three double-digits performances, including a double-double from senior Olivia Bolden (South Windsor, Conn.), the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team was edged by Emmanuel (Mass.), 100-94, Saturday afternoon in GNAC action on Saturday afternoon at "The Nest" inside the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Albertus Magnus opened the game with a 14-7 lead before closing out the first quarter with a six-point lead, 23-17, heading into the second.

The Falcons continued to stay in control in the second quarter until the Saints found themselves within four, 37-33, with 3:01 remaining following a layup from Alisha Fox. Albertus Magnus would head into the locker room with a 49-37 advantage after ending the first half with a 12-4 run.

Emmanuel opened the second half with an 8-0 run to cut the Falcons' lead to 49-45, but with 5:39 to play in the third, Jill Johnson (North Haven, Conn.) put the hosts back on top by double figures, 50-39. With three minutes remaining in the third, Emmanuel outscored the Falcons 11-2 to pull within three, 72-69, heading into the final quarter.

Both teams battled on offense over the first three minutes of play before the Saints tied the game for the first time, 79-79, following back-to-back baskets from Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda. The Falcons responded with a 5-0 spurt to regain an 84-79 lead, but the Saints continued to press, forcing the hosts into several turnovers down the stretch.

Emmanuel took its first lead of the day, 88-87, with a fast break basket with 3:52 to play before Kiki Epps (Norwalk, Conn.) tied the score at 90-90. With the clock winding down, Albertus Magnus was unable to stop the Saints from scoring and the Falcons' would fall 100-94.

NOTEWORTHY

• Bolden's 33-point performance pushes her career-point total to 1,845 ranking her second all-time.
• Emmanuel's head coach Andy Yosinoff earned his 800^th career win becoming the 14^th NCAA women's basketball coach to reach this milestone. He is also the second Division III coach to reach this milestone as well.
• Junior Kiki Epps (Norwalk, Conn.) netted a career-high 19 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field.
• Freshman Raegon Shirling-Davis (Waterbury, Conn.) posted a career-high 13 rebounds to go along with six assists, two stelas and a block.
• The Falcons are 6-2 at home following today's loss.
• Emmanuel now leads the all-time series over Albertus Magnus 25-2.
