Falcons Cruise by Lasell in Road GNAC Action, 75-55

NEWTON, Mass. - Both Shyla Osmond (New Haven, Conn.) and Rah-Rah Thompson (Bridgeport, Conn.) recorded double-doubles to help propel the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team to a convincing 75-55 road victory over Lasell University on Tuesday evening in Newtown, Mass.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons built a first-quarter high nine-point lead with just 1:09 left in the frame. Trailing 9-8 at the 6:01 mark, Albertus orchestrated a 10-0 run over the next five minutes behind stellar defense and a 6-for-6 performance from the free-throw line.

Osmond began to take over in the second period, pouring in 10 points. Osmond bookended a 9-4 run by the Falcons to end the second quarter to give the visitors a 37-31 lead at the break.

At halftime, Osmond posted a well-rounded stat line with a game-high 14 points and four assists. Thompson also had a fantastic half, coming close to a double-double with eight points and 11 rebounds.

The Falcons built its lead to 14 points after three quarters, 55-41. Albertus allowed just 10 points to the Lasers in the third quarter, while scoring 18 of its own to grow its advantage further.

Albertus maintained its double-digit lead for the entirety of the fourth quarter, building it to as high as 20 points multiple times.

Osmond led all players with an outstanding performance, tallying game-highs with 25 points and 10 assists, her eighth double-double of the season. Thompson also tallied a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds, her 12th of the year. Junior guard Cassie Couture (Waterbury, Conn.) posted a career-high 16 points to finish second on Albertus in scoring.
