NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior guard Shyla Osmond (New Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team has been named to the D3Hoops.com All-Northeast Region Team, which was announced Monday afternoon. Osmond received a Fourth Team nod.

This is the 19th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 23rd annual All-American selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective cTaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.

Earlier this year, Osmond took home First Team All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honors for the second consecutive season after posting strong numbers all over the court for the Falcons. The local product from New Haven was the lone player in the conference to average at least 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, with marks of 23.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game.

Osmond's stats were so impressive that the senior ranked in the top 10 of all of Division III in six statistical categories. Osmond finished the year second in triple doubles (3), third in both points per game (23.8) and field goals made (219), fourth in assists per game (7.0), eighth in total points (570) and total assists (167).

The women's basketball team ended the 2019-20 season with an 18-8 overall record and advanced to the GNAC Women's Basketball Tournament as the fifth seed behind a league mark of 8-3. Albertus saw its season come to an end with a double-overtime loss to fourth-seeded Suffolk University in the quarterfinal.
