WINTHROP, Mass. – For the third time in as many weeks, Albertus Magnus College women's basketball sophomore Jakara Murray-Leach (Norwalk, Conn.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week, as announced Monday.
Murray-Leach continued her torrid start to the season, as she posted a double-double with 29 points (12-23 FG, 4-5 FT) and 11 rebounds to help guide the Falcons to an 84-82 come-from-behind victory over Coast Guard in overtime on Nov. 21. She also chipped in four assists, three steals, and a block in the win. Murray-Leach shined brightest in the most crucial moments, leading all players with 19 combined points in the fourth quarter and OT. The second-year guard has been the only player to be named GNAC Player of the Week so far this season.
The Falcons return to action tonight on Tuesday, Nov. 29, for a home 7 p.m. tilt against non-league foe Fisher College inside "The Nest" at the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center.
