Murray-Leach, Scott Awarded All-GNAC Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. - Junior Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.) and sophomore Jakara Murray-Leach (Norwalk, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team were named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference Teams, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Scott and Murray-Leach represented the Falcons on the All-GNAC First Team, as both scored top-three in the GNAC. Scott led the pack with 21.4 points per game to go with 4.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists, while Murray-Leach averaged 18.9 points and 10.0 rebounds.

Murray-Leach earned her second career All-Conference nod after making the All-GNAC First Team and All-Rookie Team last season as a freshman. The Norwalk, Conn. native concluded her sophomore campaign ranking third in the conference in points per game (18.9) and finished fourth in the conference in rebounds per game (10.0). Murray-Leach's incredible season also included a whopping 15 double-doubles, ranking her 20th in the nation. She also recorded a career-best 73 steals (2.8 spg) to go along with a career-best 42 blocks (1.6 bpg), which was good for fifth in the conference. The sophomore guard was also named GNAC Player of the Week six times this season. 

Scott earned end-of-the-league recognition for the second straight season after being tabbed a First Team All-GNAC selection as a sophomore. The junior guard was one of the biggest playmakers in the league averaging 21.4 points per contest while sinking an astounding 556 points on the season, which was good for 11th in the country. Scott was fourth in the conference with 98 assists (3.8 apg) and was tied for seventh with 54 steals (2.1 spg). In addition, Scott tallied 17 games with 20+ points, including a career-high 39 points against Saint Joseph (CT). Scott also picked up one GNAC Player of the Week award after a dominating performance for the Falcons that week.       

Sophomore forward Sharaya Keele (Adams, Mass.) was named to the GNAC All-Sportsnamnship Team. Keele made 23 appearances for the Falcons as a sophomore, scoring a career-best 29 points while grabbing 39 rebounds to go along with six assists, five steals, and four blocks.
