NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Caitlyn Scott of the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team scored 27 points and became the program's all-time leading scorer as the Falcons defeated Regis College, 98-80 in the team's final home regular season game on Saturday afternoon.
Scott surpassed the previous career scoring mark held by Olivia Bolden, who had 2,017 points. Scott currently boasts 2,042 career points and has 552 points this season, just 10 points away from a career-best for points in a season.
The graduate also tallied six steals, five rebounds and three assists. Jakara Murray-Leach (Norwalk, Conn.) secured her 10th double-double of the season with 19 points and 16 rebounds to go with a season-high seven blocks and four steals. Diamond White (Hamden, Conn.) scored 17 points with five steals and five assists and Elizabeth Bruno (Providence, R.I.) finished with 12 points. Bruno scored half her points on the line for the Falcons with a perfect 6-6, along with a career-high four steals.
Prior to the game, nine seniors were honored as part of Senior Day. Scott, Murray-Leach, White, Bruno, Hannah Barrientos (East Hampton, Conn.), Sharaya Keele (North Adams, Mass.), Jaelynn Mitchell (West Haven, Conn.), Amanda Zdru (Stratford, Conn.) and Sarah Evangelista (West Haven, Conn.) were honored.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams played a competitive three minutes of action before the Pride's 10-0 run puts the visitors up, 16-6, with 4:39 remaining the opening quarter.
- Needing just three points coming into the game to set a new scoring mark, Scott made two free throws with 7:48 left in the first quarter to tie the mark. She then set the new scoring mark with another free throw at 4:25, which ignited a 9-2 Falcons run, capped off by a three by Murray-Leach with less than a minute and half in the period to cut the deficit to within three.
- The Falcons' closed out the quarter by scoring five straight off a three-pointer by Isabella Fiorillo (West Haven, Conn.) and a pair of freebies by Bruno to cut their deficit to 21-20
- Hannah Barrientos (East Hampton, Conn.) and Bruno connected on consecutive layups for Albertus' first lead of the contest, 24-23, at 8:25 in the second. The two teams swapped leads two more times, but an offensive rebound and tip in from Murray-Leach led to a run that put Albertus up 36-28 after a layup from Bruno with 4:15 left
- Courtney Doherty's jumper narrowed the gap to six, but 11 straight points sparked by a three off the hands of White helped give Albertus a 47-30 lead going into the half. Murray-Leach and Bruno each scored six points in the second quarter
- Albertus built up its lead to 62-39 with just over five minutes left in the third quarter as White and Scott each scored five points during the run to open the second half.
- Regis went on a furious rally to finish the third quarter, ending it on a 21-7 run to cut the Albertus lead to 69-60.rallied to chip away at the deficit with 19 points and brought the game to within three possessions for the 69-60 hosts favor. Doherty scored six points during the final five minutes of the third quarter while Jordyn Striggles scored five, including a three.
- The Falcons put to rest any ideas of a comeback by Regis as they scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter to take a 79-60 lead. The Falcons ballooned their lead to as much as 23 in the quarter after a basket by Evangelista with 1:37 left.
