Longmeadow, Mass. – Freshman Aida Sarr (Bronx, N.Y.) and sophomore Jenny Luna (Brentwood, N.Y.) both scored four goals apiece to lead the Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team past Bay Path, 12-10, on Thursday evening in non-confernce action at Ryan Field.

The Falcons put an end to their eight-game skid to improve to 1-8 on the spring, while the host Wildcats dropped their eighth in a row to fall to 0-8 overall.

It was a balanced attack for the guests with Sarr and Luna leading the way with four markers apiece, while senior Maria Case (West Haven, Conn.) chipped in two tallies and one assist. Senior captain Miranda Jassil (North Branford, Conn.) contributed one goal and one assist.

The hosts jumped to an early 3-0 lead during the first 10 minutes of action. All three Bay Path goals were scored by Elena Helming, who had nine in the game. Sarr would put the visitors on the board with her first of the day to make it a two-goal game before Helming answered two minutes later with her fourth of the afternoon to give the Wild Cats a 4-1 advantage. AMC closed out the scoring in the opening half to trail 4-2 at the break following a marker from Sarr.

Back and forth the two squads went in the second half with the Falcons tying the game at eight all with 17:35 left in regulation following a goal from sophomore Alex Chan (Monroe, N.Y.). Over the next 14 minutes each team netted two tallies apiece with a strike from Helming knotting the tilt at 10.

Down the stretch, Albertus Magnus put the game away with goals by Case and Luna. Case potted the eventual game-winner 3:28 left in the game and with just over 90 seconds left on the clock, Luna added an insurance goal.

In the cage, Albertus Magnus freshman goalkeeper Lexie Fenn (Oakville, Conn.) stopped seven shots to earn her first career win.

The Falcons topped the Wildcats for the third spring in a row. AMC outshot Bay Path, 21-18.

Albertus Magnus returns to action on Saturday, April 16, with a road Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) showdown with Norwich that gets underway at 1:00 pm.
