Northfield, Vt. – The Albertus Magnus College women's lacrosse team lost on the road to Norwich, 20-3, on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Sabine Field.

With the loss, the Falcons move to 1-9 on the spring and 0-6 in conference play, while the host Cadets bounced back from a midweek GNAC loss to improve to 5-6 overall and 2-4 in league contests.

Senior capatin Miranda Jassil (North Branford, Conn.) paced the AMC attack with two goals, while freshman Aida Sarr (Bronx, N.Y.) netted the other Falcon tally. Sophomore midfielder Alex Chan (Monroe, N.Y.) won a team-high three draw controls for Albertus Magnus and Jassil had two of her own.

For Norwich, junior Chapel Guarnieri (Pepperell, Mass.) contributed four points on three goals and an assist with freshman Janae Somero (St. Albans, Vt.) picking up three points on a pair of goals and an assist. Sophomore Teresa Segreti (Salisbury Mills, N.Y.) also pitched in three points (2g, 1a) along with seniors Katie Quebec (Nashua, N.H.) and Caroline Manning (Duxbury, Mass) recording their first goal of the season along with classmate Larissa Gokey (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) putting in two into the back of the net.

In the cage, freshman Lexie Fenn (Oakville, Conn.) turned aside 11 shots in a losing effort for the guests. On the opposite end, Janice Bolton made two saves to earn the win for the Cadets.

Albertus Magnus wasted no time getting its first point on the board as Jassil scored the first goal of the game off of a free-position shot. The Cadets responded by scoring nine straight in just under six minutes to take the 9-1 lead with 21:39 remaining in the half.

The Falcons would record their second marker of the contest off a Jassil free-position shotonce again, but Norwich put in five more shots into the back of the net before the break to take a 14-2 edge into halftime.

Norwich opened the second half with four unanswered goals before the Falcons notched their third goal of the contest on a strike from Sarr at the 9:21 mark. The Cadets would wrap up the contest with back-to-back goals from Lortie and Segreti for the 20-3 victory.

Albertus Magnus returns to action on Saturday, April 23, with a road conference clash versus Simmons that is scheduled to being at 11:00 am. Last spring, the Sharks scored a 20-4 victory against the Falcons in New Haven.
