Lady Falcons Drop Tough 3-2 Loss to Emerson

Boston, MA – Emerson College staged a two goal second half rally to defeat Albertus Magnus 3-2 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference women’s soccer action at Emerson’s Rotch Field. Sophomore forward Krystal Quinones (Bridgeport, CT) opened the scoring in the ninth minute as she broke away down the left side off a steal to beat senior keeper Shayna Reich (West Hills, CA). Emerson’s Lisa Viccione (Meriden, CT) tied the game in the 16th minute as she tucked in a cross from senior Kendra Davidson (Newport Beach, CA). Quinones scored the go ahead goal in the 31st minute as freshman forward Danielle Figueroa (Bridgeport, CT) sent a pass for Quinones to score to give the Falcons a 2-1 advantage at halftime. Katie Franzeo (Henderson, NV) finished a pass from Lisa Viccione (Meriden, CT) to tie the score 2-2 in the 55th minute of play. Genna Opatut (Freehold, NJ) scored the game winner in the 59th minute as she took a pass from Liz Corti (Blue Bell, PA) and beat a diving Christina Oddo (East Haven, CT). The Falcons were unable to generate a shot on goal the rest of the way after controlling much of the game. Oddo made 10 saves in the game for the Falcons. Albertus drops to 6-2-1, 3-2-1 on the season and will play a 2:30 match at Norwich University on Saturday.
