New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team cruised to a 7-1 victory over Old Westbury College on Thursday afternoon. Junior forward Samantha Gigliotti (Wilton, CT) scored three goals including two in the first half as the Lady Falcons overpowered visiting Old Westbury College. After a 3-0 halftime lead, The Lady Falcons received a goal off the head of junior co-captain Jenna Riccio (North Branford, CT) on a corner kick from sophomore defender Sarah Boudreau (Burrillville, RI) to take a 4-0 lead. Old Westbury received it's only offense in the 75th minute on a goal by sophomore forward Keisha Carter (New Rochelle, NY) to make the score 5-1. Falcon goals by sophomore Krystal Quinones (New Haven, CT) and freshman Alicea Aldrich (West Haven, CT) gave the Lady Falcons a 7-1 final score. Albertus Magnus improves to 9-5-2, 5-4-2 GNAC while Old Westbury College drops to 7-7-1, 4-3-0 SKYLINE. Albertus travels to Boston, MA to face GNAC opponent Suffolk University on Saturday for a 1:30pm kick-off.
