Boudreau Leads Lady Falcons Over Norwich 1-0

New Haven, CT - Junior defender Sarah Boudreau (Pascoag, RI) drilled a ball into the back of the net in the 97th minute on a penalty kick to lead the Albertus Magnus College Women's Soccer team to a 1-0 victory over visiting Norwich University.  The penalty kick was a result of a Norwich foul in the box on senior forward Samantha Gigliotti (Wolcott, CT) as she had an opportunity to score.  The Lady Falcons outshot Norwich 24-10 in regulation but could not find the back of the net as senior goalkeeper made 12 saves on the day included 11 in regulation.  Freshman goalkeeper Christina Dineson (Milford, CT) made an incredible stop in the 28th minute of regulation as she stopped a point blank attempt.  Norwich had it's best chance to score in the 78th minute when sophomore midfielder Lisa Esparza (Dover, NH) had her first shot and subsequent shot stopped by a diving Dineson.  This win marks the first time in the program's seven year history that Albertus Magnus has defeated Norwich.  Albertus wins it's third straight game to improve to 3-2, 1-0 GNAC as Norwich drops to 2-2, 0-1 GNAC on the season.  The Lady Falcons return to action on Wednesday at 3:30 when they travel to Newton, MA to take on Mount Ida College.
