Women's Soccer Edges Rivier 1-0

An early goal by Brittany Geremia (Northford, Conn.) led the Albertus Magnus women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Rivier on Monday afternoon in conference action.

In the second minute of the contest, Geremia beat the Raiders' keeper to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. Her goal ended up being the lone score of the match as the win improves Albertus' record to 9-4 on the year and 7-3 in GNAC play.

On the afternoon, the Falcons outshot Rivier 22-9, including a 10-2 clip in the first half.

Christina Dineson (Milford, Conn.) made five saves in her third shutout of the season as she is now 6-2 on the year in net for the Falcons.

Christine Suber made eight saves for the Raiders in the loss.

Today's win marked the fourth contest for the Falcons in which they have won by one goal.

Albertus returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 15 in a noon match at Emmanuel (Mass.).
