Lasell Edges Falcons 1-0 in Women's Soccer

A free kick in the 80th minute of play led Lasell to an eventual 1-0 win over the  Albertus Magnus women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action.

It was just the Falcons' (11-5, 9-4 GNAC) second loss on their home field in 2011 as both teams took 13 shots on the afternoon.

Christina Dineson (Milford, Conn.) made four saves in net for Albertus to improve her season tally to 58.

Lasell's Jordynn Frollo scored the unassisted goal off of a direct free kick to lead the Lasers to the 2011 GNAC Regular Season title. The Lasers improved to 12-4-1 on the year and 11-2 in the GNAC with the victory.

Meghan Loughman (Trumbull, Conn.) led the Falcons with three shots, including one on goal, while Sarah Boudreau (Pascoag, R.I.) and Amanda Roke (Cheshire, Conn.) each tallied two shots.

Elizabeth Stickley recorded seven saves as she picked up the shutout victory for the Lasers.

The Falcons will finish the 2011 regular season at Nichols College on Tuesday, Oct. 25. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
