Senior Meaghan Skidmore (Terryville, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus women's soccer team has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team for District 2 of Division III. Skidmore is now a finalist for Academic All-America honors, which will be released in the upcoming weeks.

Skidmore, who has over a grade point average (GPA) close to a perfect 4.0, is majoring in business finance at Albertus Magnus College.  She is the first women's soccer student-athlete to earn this honor.

The senior forward has nine points on the year on four goals and one assist.  Three of her four goals this season were game winners as she led the Falcons to wins over Rivier, Simmons and Suffolk.

In her career, she has 11 career goals and 27 career points, ranking her seventh in both categories on the Falcons' all-time leaderboard.

Skidmore is also a Dean's List student at Albertus Magnus and was a member of the 2012-13 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Academic Team last season.  She also led her team to the 2012-13 Sister Charles Marie Brantl, O.P. Award, which is an annual award handed out by the College and given to the team with the highest cumulative GPA from the previous academic year.
