Sophomore Cat Amick was named the 2013 ECAC Women's Soccer New England Tournament Most Outstanding Player as her Wheaton College Lyons edged the Albertus Magnus women's soccer team 1-0 in the Sunday afternoon Championship game.

In the 14th minute of play, Tess Weyburne scored her second goal of the season which stood to be the game-winning goal as she went one-on-one with the Falcon keeper after receiving a through ball from Amick in the box.

Wheaton held on to its early lead to finish the year 17-6-2, while the Falcons finish the 2013 season 14-5-3 with a program-record in wins.

Wheaton outshot the Falcons 18-11 on the afternoon, including a 7-4 first-half clip.  Albertus' Maria Case (West Haven, Conn.) made seven stops in goal in 90 minutes of work, while Wheaton's Ali Hinton recorded five saves in the contest.

Despite being outshot 7-4 in the first half, the Falcons' best look in the opening frame came when Danielle Polvan (East Haven, Conn.) ripped a shot just high of the target in the 34th minute.  Later in the half, Wheaton's Kaitlin Montoya drilled a shot at net but Case was able to bat the ball into the air and grab it before it hit the turf.

Wheaton got off 11 shots in the second half with four being on goal.

Freshman Kaitlyn Fedumenti (Stratford, Conn.), who scored the game-tying goal in Saturday's semifinal win, had a great look in the 87th minute as she cut into the box to receive a cross from Shelley Mirmina (Milford, Conn.) but her header went right into the hands of Hinton.

The Falcons held a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks in the contest with all six coming in the second half.

Despite the loss, the Falcons had their best season in program history and had an incredible ECAC Tournament run en route to earning the 2013 ECAC runner-up trophy.
