Two members of the Albertus Magnus women's soccer team were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Division Women's Scholar All-East Region, while two others were named as Honorable Mentions according to the NSCAA over the weekend.

Shannon Skidmore (Terryville, Conn.) was named to the Second Team, while Shelley Mirmina (Milford, Conn.) was tagged as a Fourth Team member.

Skidmore, who was most recently named an ECAC All-Star, was also named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-New England Region First Team after becoming the Falcons first-ever Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer Defensive Player of the Year.

She was named to the GNAC All-Conference First Team for the first time in her career and finished the year with two goals for four points.  She led a Falcons' defense that recorded 10 team shutouts on the year, while allowing just 17 goals scored.

Mirmina, who was named an NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-New England Region Second Team member, led the Falcons with 11 assists on the year as she added seven goals for 25 points.  Her 16 assists put her in a tie for most assists in a career on the Falcons' women's soccer all-time list.  She also tallied 85 shots on the year.  She was also named to the GNAC First Team for her efforts.

Jessica Radecki (Milford, Conn.) and Meaghan Skidmore (Terryville, Conn.) earned NSCAA Scholar All-East Region honorable mention.  Radecki was also an integral part of the Falcons' defense that recorded 10 team shutouts on the year, while allowing just 17 goals scored.  She scored her first career goal in a 6-0 win on Oct. 19 over Anna Maria College as she finished the year with two points.

Meaghan Skidmore became the first women's soccer player in Albertus Magnus history to be named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team for District 2 of Division III.  Skidmore finished the year with three goals and three assists for nine points as she added two game-winning goals on the year.

Albertus had its most successful season in program history, recording a season-best 14 victories in 2013, while making its way to the ECAC Tournament final where the Falcons lost to Wheaton College (Mass.) 1-0 in the Championship game.
