Nashua, N.H. – The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team topped Rivier, 2-0, on the road  in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Raider Field on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Falcons improve to 3-4-2 overall and 2-1 in league play, while the Raiders dropped to  2-4-1 on the year and 0-3 in league tilts.

Senior forward Acacia Nelson (Bridgeport, Conn.) broke the scoreless tie in the 57th minute mark as she scored her first goal of the season – an unassisted tally to give Albertus Magnus the lead they wouldn't relinquish. The Falcons added some insurance in the 76th minute when sophomore midfielder Victoria Lavery (West Haven, Conn.) put one between the pipes for the 2-0 final.

Rivier sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Goodspeed (Merrimack, N.H.) made 12 saves in a losing effort while counterpart Falcon senior Maria Case (West Haven, Conn.) stopped all three shots she faced to earn her second shutout of the autumn.

The Falcons return to action on Monday, September 28 with a non-conference home tilt versus Nichols at Celentano Field.
